Percussion Lesson 1

Here we have some rhythm exercises written for a variety of percussion instruments.
If you don't have one it doesn't matter for Practise, but we would always use the correct one in a concert.

As we always do, read the notes and clap the rhythm first, then play the "Play once" track to check you are correct.
You may wish to play it a few times following and clapping the music.

Then join in and play along with the track.

As percussion players we often have to play a lot of repeats, and we have to get used to lots of bars looking very similar.
So when you feel happy playing along with the "Play once" move on to the "Play 4 times" and see of you get to the end at the same time as the track.

Once you have mastered all of the instruments there own lets try playing with the others.
At the bottom of the page there is a copy of all the instruments playing together.
See if you can play along and keep your place with everyone else.
