To help us know where we are in each bar of music, we count the Beats.
In Common, or 4/4 time, we count 1, 2, 3, 4. | 1, 2, 3, 4. | 1, 2, 3, 4. | 1, 2, 3, 4. and so on.
A little trick to help us find the half beats is to count, 1 and, 2 and, 3 and, 4 and. | 1 and, 2 and, 3 and, 4 and. | 1 and, 2 and, 3 and, 4 and. | 1 and, 2 and, 3 and, 4 and.
Here we have some rhythm exercises written for Clapping.
Each play button will give a 2 bar wood block intro to give you the timing.
You can clap all of the parts on there own, and you can clap them in turn.
Once you have mastered them on there own you can play them as a round.
Note: this is much harder than you think!
If you split into 2 groups.
The second group starts when group 1 gets to part 3.
If you split into 4 groups.
Group 2 starts when group 1 gets to part 2,
Group 3 starts when group 2 gets to part 2,
and group 4 starts when group 3 gets to part 2,
