Recorder Lesson No 5

Now we are going to take another big step forward. We are going to add 3 more notes F# high C and high D

To Play an "F#" we cover the hole on the back of your recorder with our left thumb.
Cover the first, second and third hole on the front of your recorder with the first, second and third finger of our left hand.
Place the thumb of our right on the back of your recorder behind the forth hole.
Place the second finger of our right hand ont the fifth hole on the front of the recorder
Place the third finger of our right hand ont the sixth hole on the front of the recorder

Place the recorder to your lips and blow gently.
Note use the first finger of your right hand

To Play a "high C" is very similar to an "A" without the first finger

To Play a "high D" is very similar to a "high C" without the thumb

We are going to play a new tune with a different rythmn.
Clap the rythmn first then clap along with the track.
This time we also have a repeat bar. The first time through we play straight up to the double thick bar with dots on and then go back to the thick bar with dots at the beginning then when we get to the first time bar we jump over it to the 2nd time bar.
Then for our performance version we play through 4 times in all so we have a "1st, 2nd, and 3rd" time bar and a "4th" time bar.

As Always the track starts with the Wood Block playing 2 Bars to show us the tempo (speed).

For the next tune we have a slower version we play first the learn the notes and rythmn
and a faster performance piece both of which we can play through 3 times.
